Hey, I am purchasing a new Mac Pro and I plan on hooking two 22" monitors to it. I know the graphics card has dvi and a mini-displayport output. I know if you want to use a 30" monitor you need to get the mini-display port to dual dvi. I was wondering to hook up 2 22" monitors can I hook one up to the dvi and the other up to the mini-display port or is there something else I must do?

Thanks!

You will need a single Mini DislplayPort to DVI adapter. Also you only need an adapter for a second 30".

That'll work. you just need an adaptor depending on what the monitors have, which i'm guessing is DVI if they are 22".

Another question to go along with this. If i have a dvi to dual dvi splitter (1 to 2 dvi) would that work if i attached it to the dvi output on the card? Or would that not give as good of results?

In my experience, those have never worked well enough to be worth bothering with. I suggest instead you buy your MDP-DVI adapter at monoprice.com.

Their prices are much, much better than 's.

It could be done with DisplayLink, which sends a video signal through a USB cable to a DVI output.
