Just a quick question:

Does anyone happen to know the model number for this specific cable?

After some diagnostics, I realized mine is fried (and leaving me unable to boot up). My local shop wants to charge 85 for the labor of this project (which seems radically high), so I thought I would just try and do it myself.

My only concern is that I want to make sure I’m buying the correct cable and all I’m seeing available are early or late 2011 MBP versions. Are either of these versions compatible? Or do I need something specific for mid 2011? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Doesn't look too hard, just several steps. At the moment I can't recommend getting the part from iFixit though. Their $45 cable is most likely the same as the $13 options. You should be able to find one easily. Plenty of choices on Amazon.

I'm on my third HDD cable in my 2010 13" MacBook Pro. My latest one was a $5 used one from PowerbookMedic that has been working great this past year. Can't recommend them enough, just plug in your serial number and order.
