Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a new iMac and I'm wondering if the top of the line iMac with GT 750M will be running the current games quite well. I'm talking about the following games.

- World of Warcraft
- League of Legends
- Counter Strike:GO

How well would the iMac run these games? Are we talking about a mixture of high/ultra settings or even lower then that. How well would it run compared to my current mid 2010 cMBP w/ GeForce 320M.

I really hope some of you are able to answer this question, and if you have some experiences to share, please do!

Looking forward to your answers.

Kind regards.

i had the 21.5" with 650M and i played with no problems under OSX League of legends at native res and medium details..but still under OSX(Mountain Lion) and 650M that has 512 vRAm
Now with Maveriks or Yosemite and with 750M 1GB vRAM you must have no problems with those particularly games

Ok, and seeing in your signature that you have the 27" Late 2013 iMac which one do you have? With the GTX 775m or GT 755M? Really interested in your results.

Oh I have another question. Do we see an increase in gaming performance if we go for the base 27" iMac w/ GT 755M compared to the 21" w/ GT 750M? I know the difference in cards is about 5-10% but the resolution is much higher on the 27". Would the upgrade to a 27" be a performance decrease gaming wise or an increase?

Thanks.

If you play 1080p on both, then it'll only be a very slight increase, as the GDDR5 variants of the 755M and 750M are almost identical.

If you play at 2560x1440 on the 27" and 1920x1080 on the 21.5", then the 21.5" will actually fare better.

Thanks for the quick response, appreciate it. Would there be big differences between 2560x1440 vs 1920x1080 in terms of looks on the 27"?

I'm not sure about that, because I haven't tried it myself.

I always play at native resolutions on both my 21.5" and 27" iMacs (except for the retina iMac. Playing at 5K on that machine is crazy), so I don't know how different 1080p looks on the 27".
