I am in the process of erasing my macbook's hard drive in order to start from scratch, having created a windows partition on the hard drive. I want to be able to store all windows programs and files on my external hard drive, and access them from there when using the windows partition on my computer hard drive.
My question: in order to do this, do I also need to erase and re-format my external hard drive to be compatible with both windows and mac os?
If so, how is that done? I'm assuming my external drive is currently formatted for use with mac, as it was originally used with a mac mini.
Hardware:
1 year old Macbook 6.1
OS X - 10.6.6
2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory - 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
External hard drive:
Volume created - Sunday 6 Jan 2008
Format - Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Capacity - 359.95 GB
Sorry if any of that information is superfluous, I have very little idea what any of it means! Would be grateful for any help or advice though
thanks!
