Question Reguarding Restore to iP4

I have a question in regards to the new iP4. I have a 3G right now and the last time i did a backup or anything was when i went to upgrade to 3.0 firmware. Now, i am installing iOS4. It backs up your phone in the beginning of the iOS4 upgrade, but will i have to do another backup AFTER it has iOS4 on it so when i go to restore the data onto the iP4 it is with the iOS4 data, not 3.0?
