Question: Will I have problem restoring Jailbroken iPhone in 10.5.6?

I have heard people saying DFU mode no longer works in OS X 10.5.6 preventing people from Jailbreaking iPhones. But my question is, if I want to update to a new firmware or something and decide to restore my 2.2 iPhone, will it work? Or will I run into problems, my iPhone bricking or something like that?

I'm not trying to jailbreak it, it already is. I would just like to know if i decide to do a restore through iTunes, will I run into any problems?
