Just wondering if it is possible to send a buddy an entire folder of files via adium? If not, what would be my next best option to do this?

IIRC Adium 1.0 beta can do that. If not then your next best option is zipping the folder then sending it.

Is there a reason you don't want to zip it?

1) The zip file will be smaller and therefore travel faster.

2) Less chance of one or two files failing to transfer for some random reason.

3) It takes a second to zip it. Select the folder, ctrl-click or right-click, select Create Archive. Wham.

the person im trying to send this to isnt very computer savvy so i wanted just to send the folder itself rather than explain the whole zip thing...so it cant be done?

Just use send file (right click on user's name to access this) and select a folder instead of a file. It should work.

Also, I'm using the previously mentioned beta (which can be found at beta.adiumx.com ), but it should be the same for .89 (or whatever the non-beta is at this point).

nah that doesnt work...only allows you to select a single file, unless im missing something here...

im pretty sure you can send files via adium, i dont know about folders but files: yes
