If I buy an album from itunes and download it directly to my device, can I then delete certain song off that album from my phone?

I googled this but couldn't find anything.

There is two songs from the free U2 album that I would like to get but don't want the rest of the songs. I've never bought an album from the store before so I'm not sure.

Yes. Slide your finger over the songs you want to delete like an email. Of course you can also do it if you sync through iTunes.
