Potential Apple watch scam on eBay. Seller says they got this Apple watch from an Apple employee. Photo for one day auction claims to be from today yet the Apple watch face shows a 9 - like the Apple publicity shots.

Time is also wrong in the center dial.

I believe that it's one of the Chinese clones (there was a front page article a week or two ago). The "crown" isn't as smooth as it should be.

Edit: Here's the article.

I feel like someone should just buy it, just to see how much of a scam it is. How much is it being sold for

These Chinese companies were selling those exact knock offs at CES 2015 for like $30, they have crappy screens and a horrible Watch OS skin on them to make it look like a real Apple Watch.

The way the strap connects to the actual watch doesnt look right either or look like one of the Apple straps.

Yeah, the crown is one dead giveaway.

The back case on this one also doesn't have any sensors or usual Apple markings:

Btw, the auction bidding is over $200 right now. What was that P.T. Barnum saying again?

I've reported it to eBay.

Item listed here, for those who want to look.

Lots of trademark violations, unless they have Apple's permission. Probably illegal to import it into the USA and most other civilized countries.

I've reported obvious fakes to eBay in the past. They never stopped the auctions or did anything to the repeat-offender sellers.
