Questions - 16 MBP AppleCare and Lightroom

Doing a bit of research and need some help. I can afford the base 16 MBP as is, but I’m not sure about the AppleCare. How many have the AppleCare / or have run MBPs without AppleCare?

Secondly does anyone use Lightroom on the base 16 MBP? Is it good performance wise? Do the fans constantly spin when doing edits?

I have a base model MBP 16” and hardly ever notice the fans spin up. I’ve played the game RUST on it which would either be a comparable or greater workload and it seems to only spin up high if I have had it sitting on the couch or on my lap for a long time. I think the fans do kick on regardless, but not always screaming at me. The cooling on this thing is quite improved like they say. I used to have a 13” 2017 MBP and it’s laughable how much better heat dissipation is. I imagine it’s a noticeable improvement over the 15” models as well.

Regarding AppleCare...I couldn’t justify not having the coverage on a $2000+ device. These aren’t the MBPs of yesteryear where you could get parts for cheaper. If even the littlest issue crops up, you‘re stuck with a high cost outside of warranty.

I don't have AppleCare on mine, but it is specifically covered (repair/replacement) under my homeowner's insurance as a work/business item. Could be an option for the OP.
