I got a new iTouch a few months ago and transferred my music from my old nano straight to it just fine. The music wasn't bought thru iTunes though and isn't stored in my library, just on the device itself. I've also added apps through the app store on the device itself, and never through iTunes. I was hoping to back everything up though. If I have the backup selection as "on this computer" and not to the cloud, then press sync, will it save my songs, pictures, videos, and apps to my computer? Or erase them all from the device and replace everything with the two songs I have from the iTunes store?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. My iTouch is running iOS 5.1.1 and my iTunes is fully updated as well.

If a trial is available get it. None of those I have tried worked on my iPod. I then proceeded to updating IOS anyway, it failed to restore my libraries and my backup and 2 years of music sorting are gone up in smokes. Dig deeper into backing up your stuff out of itunes. I'm still shaking from my ordeal.

Sorry, iPod Touch if it really bothers you that much.
Regardless, does anybody have some good suggestions for iPod to Computer transfer programs? Preferably free ones...
