Hi, i've a question.
If you go to an Apple Store or AT&T store in USA will u have to pay for the only for the iphone (399$ for 8gb and 499$ for 16gb) or will you have to pay something in advance to at&t after signing the contract ?
And one more thing:
Do you pay anyway the monthly rate if you will never activate the iphone through the internet with itunes ?

Thank you so much in advance for your reply !

You just pay for the phone, better go the Apple Store I think, they prefer credit cards/debit cards.
However I think also the AT&T allows you to exit the store without signing the contract, you sign in for the contract via iTunes activation.

Your English is good enough to communicate, and that is the main intention in this forum, so don't be afraid to make mistakes.

You only pay to AT&T if you activate the phone in iTunes with them.
So if you don't activate the service contract with AT&T you don't pay.

Keep in mind that Apple requires an American credit card to buy an iPhone in their stores.

Are you sure about that? I was planning on buying one next week!

Should i go to a AT&T store instead then?

I don't know if the rules changed recently, but my Father and my Brother bought, at the Troy, MI Apple Store, 2 and 2 iPhones in November 2007 using their credit cards from another country.
You can buy up to 5 iPhones with the same credit card.
Apple keeps a record of that, and why is that legal: that Apple keeps a record of your credit card without your permission?
