Recently I have noticed that if the "Funk" alert sound is played in rapid succession that the audio seems to "Pop."

Is this normal?

Some of the other alert sounds cause this. However, I never hear this while listening to music...

I also found out that this same noise can be heard in headphones while attached to my MBP. So it isn't the internal speakers causing this noise.

does the pop in question happen before, during, or after the sound?

It seems to be right before...

However, it must be two or more alert sounds played in rapid succession...

I can induce this by opening up the Sound prefpane and rapidly clicking on Funk

if it only happens when you repeatedly click on the sound id say its nothing to worry about. if it happens when it only plays once then it may be an issue

EDIT:
i just tried it on mine and i think i know what you are talking about. its nothing to worry about
