Hi,

I've been following this thread, for quite sometime. But never really asked any questions about the iMac. I have a 2 1/2 year old Dell, fully loaded and I'm looking to buy my first iMac. I would be giving my son my Dell, that is still under warranty.

I would only be using the iMac for, surfing the web, some photo stuff and burning cd's and dvd's. I was thinking about getting a refurbished 27" i7. I understand that a new iMac will be out, but nobody knows for sure when. With in mind, what I will be using the iMac for, would I notice a difference at all, if a new one comes out next month? I get the fact, I would be buying a year old product, but like everyone on here, who knows when it will come.

Bottom line, for what I'm using it for, would I notice the difference from a 2011 to a 2012, depending on what comes with the new 2012?

Thanks, Jerry

It's very likely that you would notice no difference at all between the two.

Thanks everyone!! I like most of you, have been waiting for the new 2012's to come out. But the more I read, even though, I like getting the latest technology, just seems like going this way is a better fit for me.

One last question....I'm assuming, this would be much better then my 2 1/2 year old Dell?

Thanks again, Jerry
