I remember reading that you can tether your ipad to your iphone using bluetooth. It uses less power and stuff. I had a few questions about this, because I would like to do this instead of buying a 4G ipad.
1) Can I leave bluetooth on 24/7, and not have to take my phone out of my pocket for hotspot to turn on?
2) What is the procedure when I try to get online with my ipad? If I don't have wifi, will it automatically establish a connection with my iphone? If I have wifi will it use wifi instead, or keep using my tethering plan?
Basically, i'm looking for a tethering solution that just does the right thing. I don't want to have to pull out my phone every time I want to start tethering. I don't want to play around in settings on my ipad, or toggle wifi on or off each time. I just want to tap on safari, or otherwise access the internet, and have my ipad make the right choice on how it should connect to the internet.
So tell me, is it possible? Otherwise i may have to pony up the extra $130 and get the 4G ipad instead.
