I have 3 questions about jailbreaking my iPod touch. (which I haven't done yet)
1.Is your iPod touch laggy at all with 3rd party apps on it?
2.Is there any way to get your touch back to normal after jailbreaking without restoring?
3.How much space do apps take up?

1 - No, well at least in my case, its not any slower than without the apps.

2 - As far as I am aware, the only way you can get your ipod back to factory conditions without it being jailbroken is to restore through iTunes.

3 - The applications take up different amounts of space, so it is probably best to move the Applications folder in order to be able to install as many as you like. The apps i have installed vary from 13KB to 4MB.

Another question... If there is a new software update and you download it though iTunes will your iPod touch be back to "normal" without any apps and not jailbroken?

ok, so i keep getting stuck at the last step. Whenever I hit jailbreak, it does, but then iTunes says i need to restore it to recognize it. What am I doing wrong?

Another question... If there is a new software update and you download it though iTunes will your iPod touch be back to "normal" without any apps and not jailbroken?

What happened when I updated a jailbroken touch to 1.1.2 was yes, back to a normal touch, standard apps only. No bricking or anything. Remember though the software update is always optional so just ignore 1.1.3 when it comes until there is a new jailbreak.

Question. All the iPhone apps are available though the installer.app right?

Er sort of. What apps you can see in Installer depends on what sources or "repos" you have it looking at. There are other threads on how to do this but basic is you go to the sources menu and edit and add and then you can add as many new sources/repos as you like. Installer comes with a big source list already but there is a lot of good apps not there by default eg. the gba and psx emus etc etc. Search on these forums for lists of repos to add.

...

Oh I just reread your post, you wanted iPhone apps... Yes they are all on Installer I think.

What do you guys think about "the easiest jailbreak for the iPod touch" on you tube? Would that be just as good as installer?
