Questions about 'Mails' and Macbook Registeration

this is my first macbook pro

i log into my hotmail and it started downloading ALL the mails since the first email i ever got

(and i got like nearly 10,000 mails)

can i fix this? can i set the program to download only the recent mails?

like 100 recent mails are enough (just like iPhone and iPad)

...

and my second issue is about macbook registration..

when i bought from the retail shop, the salesman skipped the registration process and he asked me to do it later at home..

and now i cant find that registration page

...
