Well, I just bought my first MBP, and I want to buy the Samsung Spinpoint M6 500GB hard drive to put in it. But there are a few questions i need to ask about it first.

1. On OWC i found four different links for the same hard drive, but all are differently priced. What is the difference between them, and which one would be best in the MBP? also... why are there different ones?

2. They come in an enclosure... i can remove that and just use the drive, right?

3. This probably has an extremely simple answer, but is there a special way to move everything from the stock harddrive to the new one? Will i also need to buy a cable or something?

4. Did I miss anything? Do I need to buy anything else?

Sorry for my noobishness, I'm a little new to this :)

They have USB 2.0 only, FW400/USB, USB/eSATA, and USB/FW800, enclosures. Buy what you need; internal drives are all the same.

Yes, however taking the drive out voids the warranty on the enclosure.

I used Time Machine, so it defragmented all the files; you can use Super Duper, Carbon Copy, Disk Utility--all can be used.

Do you need anything else? ;)

If I'm not going to use it as an external, do i need more than the least expensive one? Im assuming not...
