just a few hours ago I sold my old iphone 4! I took the SIM card out and went to settings/general/reset/erase I made sure everything was gone. my question is will she need me to go to the att store to activate it? it is a att iphone. but my ex bought it for me and put me on his plan a few years back. is that a problem?

No. The phone is good to be activated on AT&T.

I assume if you had it on ios7. U disabled/signed out of iCloud and find my iPhone. That's the only hiccup that person may face. But considering u wiped it out already. That means you passed that stage.

If icloud aka find my iphone was turned off you should be good.

If it is enabled and you restored it it will up in "icloud lock" pics included.
