Hi have the Graphite SS with the ML. I love it. I am very careful how I take off and charge the watch. I don’t use the puck to charge. No scratches so far.

I am also considering the Sport Loop as an alternative, but I have questions.

is it as comfortable as the ML?
Does it breathe?
Can it be washed?

I am prone to wrist rashes, so I am cautious about the Sport Loop. All my Apple Watches have had the ML and I have never had issues. Again, I am cautious, but willing to try.

I found it to be a PIA to put on and take off. I had a looser 8 and it fit my wrist fine. Tight is not ideal in my opinion and could end up being painful. Band was soft. Just sold the 8 and I am using my Nike band. Very happy.

Not clear what you prefer. ML? Sport Loop? Stretch Loop?

Yes, yes, and yes.
To clarify: we are talking about the sport loop, not the newly-released solo loop.

The purpose of the 14-day return period is so that you can try it out yourself with zero risk or cost, and not go by other's opinions. I highly recommend doing so, and Apple encourages you to do so. It does not need to be returned in "as new" condition.

#1 - don't know, never tried a milanese loop. My Sport Loop are very comfortable.
#2 - yes - and it wicks sweat well, it's my preferred band for running (which, as you might imagine, gets a little sweaty at lunchtime in Georgia)
#2 - yes - after a run I'll either just rinse it under the faucet or wear it into the shower. Dries quickly and doesn't keep my skin damp.

Sport Band vs. Sport Loop used to be confusing enough for people. Now they add Solo Loop to the lingo? Apple overestimates people’s ability to handle details.

To answer your question, OP: I don’t own an ML, but the nylon Sport Loop is my go-to everyday band for comfort and running. It breathes, dries quickly, and washes up really nice in a lingerie bag in the washing machine.

The nike sport loop has been my favourite band, keen to get the new charcoal too. Easy to get on and off, you get a perfect fit and very comfortable. The only other band that came close if you want to surf etc in it was the UAG velcro.
I stopped surfing in mine and got a ripcurl watch just for surfing, mainly as i was getting wax on the watch/band.

The Sport Loop:
  • Lightweight and supremely comfortable
  • Can be adjusted to fit just as you wish
  • Breathable: great in hot weather and terrific if you're prone to dermatitis
  • Washes easily (I just throw mine into the washer with my clothes)
