Questions about upgrading to Yosemite to main drive.

I want to do a clean install on mavs and install yos,how does one do this does he simply just click his current drive and install yos on it?ill be doing a migration from mbp to my imac,i don't have many programs and yos seems stable enough for me to run it on my main system
