Hey Macrumors folks,

I can't find the answer to this question anywhere, so I thought I would post it on my goto place for all things Apple (in the forum where I figure there are the most knowledgable people on the topic). I've tried to get answers from Reddit subs, but I usually end up getting a mix of responses from non-programming folks who seem to be mostly guessing. Thanks in advance for any response any of you guys may have.

The questions: Nintendo is releasing a voice chat app for iOS and Android OS http://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/ to allow for voice chat while playing games. So far, the response has been mediocre, at best. As I understand it, when using the app, one will only hear chat audio, not game audio from the Switch (unless Nintendo is not telling us something about future updates). In order to hear both in-game audio and chat audio from the iOS app, one has to use an external device (this: https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/01/nintendo-switch-splatoon-2-chat-headset-dreams-of-wires-/) Is it even technically possible to mix audio between multiple apps/sources within iOS (and, if you happen to know, Android?), in addition to sending and receiving Bluetooth audio? What would the audio chain look like? Assuming Nintendo releases a software update for the Switch that supports BT audio, is it feasible that both the app and the Switch could somehow transmit to a BT headset? Perhaps a knowledge of how the Switch OS/hardware works might be necessary to answer this question, but I'm thinking that you guys would have the knowledge to at least answer the iOS side of things. Thanks for taking the time to help out a non-programmer. :)
