I’ve been using a Spigen Liquid Air Armor on a XS Max.

Nice and thin and not slippery in my opinion but you’ll find one review on Amazon saying that it’s super slippery and that’s total BS.

I like that one but it isnt clear unfortunately

I have the liquid crystal with the glitter. It’s surprisingly grippy. I love it.

For a clear case that's thin, I'd say get the ESR TPU case or the Luvvitt TPU case, I think it's called clarity. I have used the Luvvitt clarity on iPhone 8 and it's the thinnest clear TPU case I have used. I just ordered it for my iPhone XS, will get it on Monday, if you can wait, I will upload the photos once I get it.

If you want a hard clear case and dont mind spending a bit, get the Caudabe Lucid Clear, I have it, it's a good case, just a bit slippery.

The issue with soft clear cases is that they turn yellow after a few months.

Spigen clear cases are a bit too thick for me.

I use the ultra hybrid clear for my X and it’s been great. As others have said, the tpu portion of the case(bumper)yellows over time. Mine started after 6 months, I’m due for a new one. I may try the smoke version this time around..

Look into Ringke Air. It has a black/smoke version and its not bad.
