Questions On Audio In Bootcamp

Just wondering if anybody has had any luck with sound input for use with programs like skype while using bootcamp. With the standard bootcamp audio drivers I can talk through the built in Mic in my Macbook Pro, however I have to talk very loud for people to be able to hear me clearly. I tried plugging in my headset so I wouldn't have to talk so loud and it didn't work. Is sound input not supported with the current drivers? Has anybody found any other drivers that work better than the bootcamp drivers? Thanks
