Questions on Parallels and XP etc...

Hello to those of you with great Mac wisdom,

I have a MacBook Pro, bought it this past July before they changed.
I have to run Windows for work... right now, I have my Mac partitioned and I run XP but HATE having to switch back and forth. How good is Parallels?

Frankly, I feel like this Windows stuff is a violation of my precious MacBook and I HATE doing it. It is however, my business. The question is, should I "violate" my MacBook with Parallels, etc or should I just spring for a $600.
PC and call it my work laptop?

Any input would be appreciated!

parallels is pretty good and can run straight off ur boot camp part. just make sure u have enough ram.

But anyway.. how much do u have? Cause u really want at least 2 gigs, one for each "os". but if u have 3 or 4 even better.
