questions re: activating my iphone 4s

Hello! I'm a newbie to this forum and a newbie in the world of iphones.


I just got an unlocked iphone 4s and I have 2 questions with regards to activation.

1. does the micro SIM card need to be inserted into the phone before activating it or will it activate without the SIM?

2. do I need to be connected to the Internet when activating my Iphone?

I got my unlocked from Apple yesterday.

Yes, you need an installed SIM to activate the phone

Yes, you need an internet connection to activate or a wired connection to iTunes
