I'm thinking of buying a Mac Book Pro; I'm a little concerned, however and am hoping that everyone one here will say that my concerns are not an issue!
1. Ok, I'll be replacing a Dell Inspiron with 1680x1050 widescreen 15.4" display with (probably) a Mac Book Pro 15.4". I'm not really happy that the resolution is lower, but tend to think that the 17" is just too large for comfortable travel. My first problem, is that I have a (new) Dell 21" 1680 x 1050 LCD display (with both DVI and Analog interfaces) that I'd like to use, and want to make sure that either MBP can drive it. (I don't want to have to buy a new display if I can avoid it).
2. Is there any kind of docking station for the MBP? I've not seen one, but don't know about 3rd party products.
3. I do development. Mainly Java 5 using Eclipse, Ruby on Rails, and some Microsoft Visual Studio work. Ruby on Rails I'm not worried about, and I suspect that Java+Eclipse probably works for the most part (if I'm wrong, feel free to chime in). However... I was planning on using Parallels or VMWare to virtualize a windows development environment. Has anyone tried this, and are there any pitfalls. I'd really be curious on this issue, as I suspect that my MS work is going to increase soon.
Thanks!
rob.
