Hi,
I am planning on getting Synthogy Ivory Grand II which is a software synthesizer of a Grand piano. It's a pretty large library (~77 GB) and requires a hard drive of at least 7200 rpm + C2D of at least 2.0 GHz. A reviewer of the software said it streams the data from the HDD so the disk drive is in heavy usage while playing the piano. So, I am considering a 2011 13" MBP i5 + 128GB SSD drive. My questions are
a) I've read the SSD technology allow only a limited read/write cycles. Is it true and will my SSD suffer from the extensive data streaming from it?
b) In general use (like internet surfing) does the SSD improves the battery life when compared to HDD
Thanks.
