Hello,

I am thinking of creating a two-disk RAID 1 by using the macOS Disk Utility. However, I have some questions related to this and I thought if someone here could help me with them.

At the moment, I am using an old Mac Pro 4,1 (upgraded to 5,1) running Mojave. At some point, I will probably replace it with a Mac Studio together with an OWC thunderbay enclosure for the disks.

If the Mac Pro breaks down, will it be possible to put the RAID 1 disks into an OWC thunderbay enclosure and continue using the RAID from a Mac Studio?

Or if the above is not possible, will one of the disks of the RAID 1 (and the data in it) be readable as a separate drive?

Br,
Tommi
