quick access scratchpad? stickies?

Hello,

Is there a way to toggle display of the stickies app (not command-tab to it)? What I'm looking for is a dirt-simple scratch pad app that I can toggle to display at anytime with a single keystroke, type my notes, and then single keystroke to hide it again.

Apple or third party, either is fine.

Dashboard has a sticky widget. You can launch that with your mouse and I think one of the F keys can be set to invoke Dashboard as well.
