Question question is there a way to play .avi movies without having to convert it? Only answer I'm getting is to use the ifunia vid converter. Many thanks!!

Something else I just realized about VLC... A lot of gestures on the trackpad can be used for VLC. Perhaps I didn't have it updated on my old white macbook, but it is sort of neat.

Well, VLC still can't play well, I followed the advice that from apple discussions, to delete the old Xvid codec lying in MacintoshHD/Library/QuickTime folder and reloaded the divx video in QT, got video without sound...
And tried uninstall DivX and keep Perian, seems work, but in the third min the video and audio turned not synchronous :(
Maybe have to turn to the converting? hope it can work smoothly.
