Hi All. Quick question, I currently have an imac running Mavericks and Bootcamp.. If I want to update the OSX will this effect the bootcamp partition? Thank you for your help!

Bootcamp is completely isolated, as it is an entirely different OS. So, you can upgrade macOS independently of Bootcamp. You might have to install a new version of Bootcamp on the Windows drive potentially, depending on how up-to-date it is already, but that's about it.

Sorry for being so vague! What I mean is that Bootcamp drivers for your Windows installation are updated by Apple, and you need to install those updates. You want to keep BOTH your macOS and Bootcamp as up-to-date as possible (including drivers and OS updates for Windows). That's what I"m saying.

Really, what you need to know is that you can upgrade macOS without worrying about Bootcamp (I've done it before), as per your original question.

Hope this clears things up!!
