Quick buying question - when?

Hey all

Just a quick question.
I was going to buy a 2019 256GB MBP possibly next week.

Would I be better off waiting til October for the late 2019 models (or possible price drop on the early 2019 models)? If that is even a likely thing to happen....
I don't absolutely need to buy right now but defo will before the end of the year.

I’d say definitely wait until end of the year as there’s strong rumours this new 16” model will launch before the end of the year.

Of course, the problem with that approach is if you buy one in December, the brand new ones might be out within a few months so you may end up trying to hold on a bit longer?

Yeah - however the 16" model is not of any interest to me. 13" is perfect for my uses.

Haha, yep it'll end up being waiting til end of this year, then next May, then end of next year... etc etc etc

Really need to replace this 2008 model soon.... freezes for a few seconds now and again (CPU bottleneck) and the screen resolution is too blurry for me after using retinas and HD monitors at work etc

I am in a similar position, though my current MBP is not quite as old. My wife is returning to work after being on maternity leave this Sept and needs a laptop. She likes to use my Late 2014 13'' MBP for her work... I have been using my MBP a lot lately so I am going to likely need to get something new in the next couple weeks. I keep hearing of a possible 2020 redesign and do not want to commit to this gen completely if a redesign is going to happen. 16'' does not interest me so do I wait or just pull the trigger now... ugh.

I probably would not buy the first generation of a newly designed MBP anyway so that is making me think just buy the 2019 then by the time they have everything worked out with the next gen I can sell the 2019 and buy the new gen if it really brings alot of enhancements.
