Quick External HD Question

Hey.

Just picked up a Lacie Bigger Disk Extreme 1TB. Really just setting it up right now, and dumping some data over.

Quick question though. When running, and plugged into my iBook, it seemed as if disk activity was going on, even though I wasnt accessing it for anything. Is this normal??

The little blue light would be kinda 'flashy', and I would hear the disk 'crunch' noise. All sounds very fine and normal, not too loud or anything....just wonder why disk would be working.....

Could be Spotlight indexing your new drive. Or was this when the drive was still empty??

Hmm... Good thinking....
Drive was not empty. Took it into work today and dumped some data on it. Likely the case, as when I first plugged it in last night, I did not notice this.
