So, in the past when I have setup my IMAP gmail account in Mail.app on the mac for the first time after a erase and install, it proceeds to download tens of thousands of messages from Gmail.
The issue I have is that if i look at my individual folders within my gmail account they don't add up to what mail downloads or what Gmail shows under "All Mail"
Currently for my one account I show
Inbox = 3698 messages
Sent = 889 messages
nothing in spam, trash or drafts.
All Mail = 28179
So where is this mystery mail coming from on Gmail? Anyone know?
