So I'm using 10.4.7. and I'm using XP on both boot camp and parallels..

thing is, what should my external drives be formatted in?

I know XP can't read or write to Mac formatted disks...
I think Macs can only read NTFS
and FAT 32 can only hold files upto 4GB (A lot of the files I'm transferring are about 6GB.

any advice?

cheers.

I'd get MacDrive and keep your externals as HFS+. You might find it hard to use with other WinXP computers, though. Linkety

I suppose you could partition your external to have a small FAT32 partition (to hold the MacDrive installer) and the rest of it as an HFS+ partition.
