ok so i purchased lion from the mac app store. and it is ready to install.
will it erase and format my hard drive upon installation or will everything still be on my mac?

thanks so much

It should simply upgrade your system OS with all personal files, folders, and apps unchanged. It's an upgrade, not erase and install.

However, you absolutely should backup your system before upgrading to Lion. I can't stress this enough. :)

An upgrade will not erase all user documents, music , pics, etc. or applications. It will just upgrade your system. You won't lose any data.
