I understand iTunes 12.7 changes the handling of podcasts, etc., but I haven't been able to get a straight answer about what, exactly, iTunes 12.7 does with *non-Apple* audio files, such as speeches or audio clips, that are currently saved in iTunes 12.6. Can someone tell me what happens? Are they saved in iTunes with the existing tags and then simply moved to the Podcasts app when syncing? Or are they orphaned, so to speak, by the update to 12.7?

Again, asking about *non-Apple* non-music files, not audiobooks, etc., bought from Apple. Thanks very much.
