does anyone know why apple stopped supporting quick look for files like QuickTime animation?
It's on of the best things that OS X had
Without it it's no better then windows

What file types are not working? After reading your post I tested a .mkv, .png, .jpg, .rtf, and a .mov file with the Quick Look feature.. and all are working perfectly. What file type are you attempting to utilize with Quick Look?

files that are not supported are quicktime files (.mov) with animation codec
most of my video assets library is in this very common file format
