Quick Partitioning Question

Hi,

I am looking at partitioning an external HD. the external currently is formated with FAT32 (I think?) and it won't let me transfer over 4GB in size to it. So I wanted to make a partition with a different format on it. If i partition the drive will it erase the information currently on it? It is a 120GB drive and only 75GB used and I only need a partition of like 10GB max?

Yes, to partition your hard drive, the entire drive will first need to be formatted and then partitioned.
