Quick question about 3GS speaker

Hi guys,

I just got my first ever iPhone and it's the 3GS

I noticed the sound only appears to come out of one of the holes at the bottom, and not the other one, so if you cover the left one it sounds muffled and nothing comes out of the right one.

Is this normal???
