Ok, so today I dropped my iPhone on my desk and a little of the plastic part on the iPhone 4S that surrounds the screen, chipped off.
My 1 year warranty ends January 5.
What is my chance that apple will replace my iphone?

Thanks

They'll gladly replace it if you pay them. Otherwise, they don't cover cosmetic damages.

It depends on the Genius you get. Some will replace it free of charge, however the warranty does not cover user damage. I think the fee for a replacement Iphone out of warranty is 200 dollars. (or around that)

My suggestion - Find a defect in the phone and get a free replacement.

do you have applecare+? They would probably replace it for $50 (replacement cost fee). If not, I highly doubt you will be offered anything other than an Out of Warranty replacement for $200ish like someone else mentioned.
