Quick question about GTX Cards

Hi guys i have mac pro 2009 looking to upgrade my video card now i have evega gtx 550ti but need something faster for Davinchi resolve looking at 2 gtx 580 or 670

My question is can i only use evga brand i also see PNY gtx gigabyte gtx can they also be use in my mac pro

You can use each brand. But consider that some cards must be used with an external power supply.
