quick question about iTunes Match

I'm in the middle of a big iTunes clean-up and I haven't signed up for iTunes Match yet.

If I use iTunes Match to upgrade CDs that I ripped at 128 back in 2004 (when I got my first iPod), does iTunes Match overwrite my existing album art and track info., or does it only replace the actual song(s)?

I don't want to do a bunch of work and then have iTunes Match overwrite it. Thanks very much.
