Does anyone know how many uses someone can get from one cd? I just bought my macbook and now I'm a little short on cash.

I guess I would like to know if my friend bought office last year, can I use the disk for my computer now? Thanks!

Strictly speaking, no you can't but unofficially you probably can.
Office normally comes with 3 serial numbers (I think) but this for the licence holder only.

Legally one or three.

Practically, Microsoft uses pretty much the same scheme for licensing as with their other software, they don't care how many times you use the same disc for installing, just so long as you have a valid serial number and license for the use.

Mac Office student edition (which comes with everything you need anyway) comes with three. It's only $129 from Amazon.com, no tax and free shipping.
