quick question about Parallels installation

Quick question - I currently run Vista off of Boot Camp; is Parallels a fairly straightforward installation that then lets me launch Vista off of my Boot Camp partition, or do I need to reinstall Vista onto another (separate) partition for Parallels? (Which would effectively give me TWO copies of Vista on my Mac?)
