Quick question about swapping iPhone 4's

Quick and simple question:

Friend shattered her iPhone 4 screen, I told her I'd sell her my old iPhone 4 for cheap.

Is the process as simple as putting her old sim card into my iPhone 4, or is there something that needs to be done through AT&T?
