I'm out i the field as it were and I need to get a 7GB file from a PC onto my macbook pro.

I've tried my mini external but it's in FAT32 and can't handle the file size, i've tried hooking up and ethernet for direct atachment but it freezes up after about 10mins and goes nowhere.

am I missing something?
any ideas?

Does your PC have a Firewire connection and if so, do you have a spare Firewire cable available?

ethernet is your best option, I'd try and figure out why its freezing.

Otherwise, you could reformat your external as NTFS (applications/utilities/disk utility -this will erase all files on the drive) and copy the file on it. From there you can plug it into the Mac and copy the file wherever you like, you just won't be able to edit the file while its on the drive. After you're done it would be just as easy to reformat the external again, back to FAT32.

Sorry I don't have anything better..
