OK im revising this post.... I am looking at getting a g3 tower from someone withe following specs 256 MB of memory, 2 128 ATI rage video cards, zip drive.... Now the question is I want to know if this were to run osx or tiger would that be sufficient to run mac sofware such as ifuntastic and garageband etc or do I need a something different. THe mac doesnt start dude said and thats why I dunno what os its runnin if you need more info jus ask. ALso if i were to want to start developing apps would this be good if not what would
 
iPhone apps from iTunes are compatible with both Macs and PCs. Nonetheless, here are requirements to run Tiger from Apple's website:

To use Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, your Macintosh needs:
- A PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
- Built-in FireWire
- At least 256 MB of RAM
- DVD drive (DVD-ROM), Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) or SuperDrive (DVD-R) for installation
- At least 3 GB of free disk space
