Hey everyone, just a quick question. I haven't moved my DVD's to digital format in a while.

Handbrake will convert DVD's to digital files but won't decrypt. Are all of the DVD's encrypted these days or can I take my DVD's and use handbrake to convert them to digital files to be viewed on my laptop and used as backups?

Thanks

Video DVDs are already digital, as they use files to store information on them.
Btw, Handbrake needs VLC Player to properly circumvent the copy-protection-scheme on a video DVD, therefore Handbrake can "decrypt" the video DVDs, as almost all (99,99%) of the commercial video DVDs employ some kind of copy-protection-scheme (what you call "encryption").
